Many associate Poland with snow and sub zero temperatures which is true ... for about three months of the year!
These winter months have led to the development of high quality ski resorts in the southern mountains but as the snow melts they are equally suitable for hill walkers and mountain climbers maing the area a year round destination for millions of tourists.
As a central European country summers last from April to the end of September and are free from the damp winds further West.
Temperatures frequently clime into the early fourties making these months much hotter than most visitors expect.
The rest of the country now comes into its own. Vast numbers of lakes are well maintained and naturally warm enough to swim in - many have man made beaches, others are naturally connected to each other and easily provide a week of relaxed sailing.
There are also numerous forests and regional parks untouched by industrialisation as well as an endless countryside criss crossed by quiet country roads and traks perfect for walking and cycling
The beaches of the North are also a popular destination with their golden sands and spectacular nightlife!
And if nightlife is what you are after most major cities provide it with both clubs and regular outdoor concerts of all types in the large city centre squares.
There is no doubt that the Poles make the most of their long, hot summers
The following is a brief glimpse of a country known for snow and grey factories...
