Most of the cash will be parcelled out based on the number of inhabitants in each voivodship. The other 20% will be assigned exclusively to voivodships where GDP per capita does not exceed 80% of the national average and where unemployment is 50% above the national average. As a result, in 2007-2013 most aid from the EU budget in per capita terms (€900-1,200) will be dished out to the following voivodships: Lubelskie, Podkarpackie, Podlaskie, Swietokrzyskie and Warminsko-Mazurskie. On the other hand, the country’s most developed regions – Lodzkie, Malopolskie, Mazowieckie, Slaskie and Wielkopolskie – will receive less than €500 per head. The country’s six other voivodships will be granted aid equal to €500-650 per inhabitant.
