Economic Growth Over 5 percent

Article added on: 2006-07-01

'The economic growth in Q1 this year amounted to about 5.2
% and may remain so throughout the year. However, the progrowth
reforms are threatened by the unstable political situation’
said deputy prime minister and finance minister Zyta Gilowska.
‘We had a very high growth rate of 5.2% in the Q1 of this
year. The economic growth, more importantly, is taking place
in low-inflation conditions’ she added. The study of the current
economic situation carried by NBP [the National Bank of Poland]
shows the GDP growth in 2006 Q2 is forecast to be higher
than in Q1.

The Market in its last survey estimated that the growth of GDP
for 2006 Q1 constituted 4.7% GDP, and in 2006 Q2 the economy
is likely to accelerate by the total of 4.9% GDP. The deputy
prime minister hopes the annual GDP growth will amount to
approximately 5 %.
